Verity Recruiting has partnered with a successful and state of the art company located in Arlington as they are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their team. This is a highly visible role within the organization and will be reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, Planning & Analysis. In summary this role will participate and support the analysis and reporting on the financial performance of key business accounts and product lines within the company. Additional duties will include but are not limited to:
Provide financial analysis on a monthly/weekly/daily basis examining results (focused on sales and gross margin) against budget, forecasts and prior periods
Analyze key metrics and trends for brands/product categories to identify any areas of strengths or weaknesses the company can address to improve sales performance.
Enhance daily gross margin reporting and partnering with Sales and Product Development/Marketing to improve gross margin for the company.
Partner with IT and Finance Systems in automating and improving accuracy of daily and monthly sales reporting.
Evaluate business initiatives by conducting scenario analysis to forecast/project different scenarios and the implications around them, with the purpose of improving decision making and further driving the growth of the company.
Facilitate monthly sales forecast reviews with key account managers.
Prepare data end reporting information for monthly sales and operations review.
Develop new query tools to analyze data to improve sales reporting and accuracy.
Facilitate development and tracking of key performance indicators
Participate and support in annual budget process, on sales and gross margin
Must have bachelors' degree in Finance or Accounting, or related field along with at least 5-8 years of solid progressive financial analysis experience. Highly developed mathematical and data analytical skills along with strong attention to detail and accuracy are a must in this role. High proficiency in Excel (advanced in modeling) is a must along with Oracle and Access acting as a preference.
