Job PurposeUnder the leadership of the Senior Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.
Oversees/provides for staffing plans / schedules; compliance with productivity targets.
In conjunction with organizational strategic plans, identifies opportunities for departmental improvements and implements appropriate action plans to optimize department outcomes.
Provides departmental needs assessment; identifies goals, develops and implements action plans in order to achieve objectives.
Develops, revises and maintains departmental policies and procedures as indicates.
Promotes and maintains positive relations with continuum of care providers.
Education &
Qualifications:
Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing required, BSN required.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
Current Nursing License from the state of Texas required.
BLS and ACLS certification must be completed upon hire.
The Registered Nurse must be PALS certified upon hire if the department is either PACU or ER.
In the ER department ENPC or TNCC certifications are required.
Work
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years ER experience in an acute hospital setting is required.
Management experience preferred.

Essential Job Responsibilities Assist in developing annual department(s) budget and manage the day-to-day budget.
Oversee Clinical Educational Program for ED.
Performance development for ED.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate the hospital's mission, vision and values, as well as departmental goals to all staff.
Defines performance objectives and metrics for the department and assesses the level of competence of staff in a timely manner.
Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy work environment by modeling the desire behaviors and encouraging those in others.
Demonstrates the ability to cope with and manage change, as well as help others do the same.
Collaborates with other departments to create systems and problem solve ongoing issues that impact departmental/organizational goals and/or patient care delivery.
Demonstrates fiscal accountability for department resources and the ability to achieve outcomes within allocated resources.
Incorporates quality improvement data and/or patient satisfaction data into departmental goals.
Displays a clear understanding of regulations applicable to patient care and/or other departmental functions.
Assists CNO in development, implementation, and evaluation of on-going service programs.
Ability to monitor , maintain , and support unit compliance of regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies.
Maintains current license and certifications as required by the position.
Responsible for ongoing development of self and staff.
Displays effective communication with all levels of staff.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
Maintains documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records.
Maintains nursing supplies inventory by studying usage reports; identifying trends; anticipating needed supplies; Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
Supports the ER Team by functioning as a staff RN as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
