Director, Market Insights and Strategy
The Director of Market Insights and Strategy is a leadership and execution role that is responsible for developing market insights and strategy, and executing research and market analysis across the Medecision enterprise. The ideal individual will have experience in a variety of roles including market research for software solutions, market analysis, go-to-market planning, general business intelligence, and strategy development. The person in this role will work closely with senior management and across organizations to address strategic goals, deliver key customer insights and implications, answer key business questions, and provide decision support.
This position will be based in either the Dallas or Philadelphia office location.
Partial remote work location will be considered for highly qualified candidates.
Responsibilities:
Leads market analysis and generates strategy recommendations
Provides analysis and decision support that drives strategic marketing solutions. The ideal candidate will have significant experience identifying marketing opportunities (brands/positioning/products/segments/etc.), scoping the opportunity, defining what needs to be investigated/measured/analyzed, performing or managing the research and analysis functions, and recommending solutions to senior management for implementation.
Provides industry, competitive and market analysis of existing and emerging market segments. Analyzes trends, market segments, competitors, customers to forecast market size and share outlook. Analyzes B2B customer and individual consumer needs to determine drivers of engagement or purchase consideration. Measures reactions to new or improved solutions and provides market analysis-based, forecast of sales potential.
Evaluates competitor products, marketing methods and strategies. Based on analysis, determines what actions should be taken to improve solutions, promotion, and sales.
Develops conclusions and marketing implications with minimal or no guidance from senior staff. Provides actionable recommendations supported by analysis, and presented in a visually compelling, clear, objective framework for business decisions.
Delivers market insights and market research to inform strategic decisions and guide enterprise operations.
Plans research and analysis and leads execution. Designs, manages, and delivers all aspects of superior custom qualitative and quantitative research projects. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a deep understanding of the market research needs of a software solution company and the various stages of the software solution life cycle.
Leads internal and external market research, business metrics and surveys including customer needs, software solutions, consumer segmentation, win/loss, customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction.
Qualitative Research: Has the capability to oversee development of recruitment screeners and topic guides, and oversee all aspects of recruiting/fieldwork. Analyzes results and prepares various types of report deliverables, including topline, executive summary (to include conclusions and marketing implications) detailed findings, and presentations with minimal or no guidance from senior staff.
Quantitative Research: Experienced in overseeing the design of typical and advanced quantitative research studies (tracking studies, single-purpose questionnaires, pricing studies, etc) with limited overview by senior staff, and with input as necessary from vendors or consultants as necessary. For example, has the capability to manage the development of screeners/questionnaires, online questionnaires, pre-tests both in-person and over the phone with respondents, to conduct data analysis and provide direction on analysis/data manipulation with analysts.
Manages market insights and strategy function
Builds and enhances relationships with external industry analysts to generate market insights and positive brand/solution image
Develops multi-year research plan and budget. Communicates with stakeholders to understand and support their research and analysis needs. Prepares and executes a research plan / budget that supports analysis needs of specific business objectives.
Coordinates performance of research vendors and projects. Clearly articulates the project rationale, hypotheses, and methodology to internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure business objectives are met.
Plays leadership role in managing Medecision knowledge resources by actively sharing knowledge, collaborating with others, synthesizing research to provide integration and context. Maintains up to date research records, secondary research, and a business publications library and makes it accessible by others. Serves as an expert resource on the research portfolio of knowledge and solutions.
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree required with 5-10 years experience. MA/MBA degree with focus on marketing, research preferred.

years experience preferred in generalist market research or consumer insights role. Prior experience with quantitative and qualitative studies, and online/digital marketing research, both syndicated and custom.

years experience preferred in healthcare or software related market research.
Experienced working with research suppliers and managing market analysts.
Strong analytic and critical thinking skills. Extremely detail-oriented and organized. Multi-tasking ability, flexibility, and prioritization skills.
Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication abilities.
Proficient with MS Office. Strong analytical and visual display capabilities desired.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
