Fish and Wildlife Biologist

Duties of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Assisting in developing fish and/or wildlife management plans to ensure conservation, protection, and enhancement of fish and/or wildlife and their habitat for a geographic area having a variety of habitat conditions. Planning, organizing, and conducting biological work and/or habitat preservation studies. Reviewing and processing standard, routine research/recovery permits and other recovery/ESA-related documents. Assisting in the consultation process pursuant to Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act of 1973. Only experience and education obtained by 12/02/2019 will be considered. Basic Education requirement for the 0401 Occupational Series:
Degree:
biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and
Experience:
Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Minimum Qualifications for the GS-9 grade level:
1 year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience may include:
Assisting in developing fish and/or wildlife management plans to ensure conservation, protection, and enhancement of fish and/or wildlife and their habitat for a geographic area having a variety of habitat conditions; Planning, organizing, and conducting biological work and/or habitat preservation studies; Reviewing and processing standard, routine research/recovery permits and other recovery/ESA-related documents; Assisting in the consultation process pursuant to Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act of 1973. OR 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education, in a discipline directly related to the position, leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree, in a discipline directly related to the position. OR A combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above that, when combined, equals 100% of the total requirement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Promotion Potential:
This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed represent the performance level of GS-9. At lower grade levels, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-11. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds.The selectee may be promoted without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
