VISN 17 Health System Specialist
The incumbent serves as a liaison between the National Program Offices where he/she provides oversight (Compensation and Pension, Integrated Disability Evaluation Systems-(IDES), Transition Care Management (TCM), Veterans Experience, Minority Veterans Program) and VISN 17. This includes monitoring national policies and guidelines to ensure consistency in implementation within VISN 17's healthcare systems. The incumbent provides management analysis, financial management, administrative support and program analysis. He/She conducts special studies, surveys, and projects. He/She serves as an advisor on all matters related to internal and external program operations and communications at the Medical Center level. You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-12 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
analyze and evaluate program efficiency, plan and conduct studies; explain, defend and interpret health care policies and programs and other initiatives to implement or change established policies and programs; to analyze, suggest improvements to, and tactfully persuade other to accept new approaches and ideas.
