Administrative Assistant

As an Administrative Assistant with the NRC, you will perform a wide range of administrative duties to support the operations of the office. Your responsibilities will include typing letters, memos, reports and other correspondence, as well as utilizing a computer with word processing software or other automated systems. You may also handle sensitive documents in accordance with Privacy Act requirements and NRC security regulations. You will be processing time and attendance, as well as making travel arrangements, facilitating property management, and maintaining electronic calendars. You will also maintain files, place and receive phone calls for professional personnel, and receive and distribute mail. Provide customer service and communicates and interacts effectively with management and staff. In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties such as described below.The ideal candidate should demonstrate within his/her resume the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide sufficient details regarding your experience as it relates to this position:
(1) Demonstrated proficiency with microcomputer-based word processing systems (including MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, E-mail, etc.)(2) Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, sufficient to prepare and review outgoing professional reports and correspondence for correctness, proper format and completeness.(3) Demonstrated initiative and ability to provide administrative support and coordination in a variety of areas (time and attendance reporting, security, records management, travel scheduling, etc.).(4) Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing and ability to deal tactfully, efficiently, and professionally with all levels of personnel.(5) Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in handling multiple assignments with competing priorities, often under considerable pressure to meet deadlines.Must be proficient in typing and in the use of office automation systems to produce memoranda, reports, letters and other textual or graphical documents. Examples of Specialized Experience include, but are not limited to:
legal secretarial work; executive administrative work; medical administrative work; accounts management work; insurance office administrative work; or other responsible office/administrative work beyond receptionist duties that require data input/management/report generation, claims processing, filing system establishment and maintenance, correspondence management, timekeeping, travel processing, conference or meeting planning, maintenance of calendars, etc.You must meet the qualifications for this position by no later than 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
