Vehicle Description 1950 Ford F1 Pickup Ford must have done something right when they introduced their F series of Pickups back in 1948 as they have spanned 14 different generations and are still in production today.
Not only are they still produced but continue to be one of the highest overall selling vehicles since the late 70s/early 80s.
The 1950 F1 you see here is a really neat pickup.
It has a clean Texas title and is very solid.
It has a TON of potential.
It was originally built to be a shop truck and has that perfect patina look to it.
The purpose was to able to both use and have fun in it.
That being said if you decided to restore it, this truck would be an excellent starting place.
The floor pan is solid with no issues.
The truck has been kept looking mostly stock and wears nice chrome bumpers and all of its original lighting.
All of the lights work properly and a third brake light has been added for better visibility.
It also has electric 2 speed wipers and self cancelling turn signals.
The truck rides on a set of White 15 inch wheels with dog dish Ford hubcaps and Radial tires.
Powering the F1 is a Ford V8 Flathead that has around 10,000 miles on it since being rebuilt.
It was bored.
125 over and fitted with a 4 inch Mercury crank, hydraulic adjustable lifters, mild cam, new pistons, Mercury heads, Offenhauser aluminum intake, 4 barrel Holley carb, 12V alternator, and electronic ignition.
It also just had recent exhaust work with headers into dual exhaust which deliver a great sound.
Keeping it cool is an aluminum radiator that has electric fan that is thermostat controlled.
The transmission is a 5 speed manual out of a S10 that shifts well.
The brakes and steering is the original set up but work well.
It has a straight axle front end with lowering front springs.
The interior has been kept mostly original with the stock style dash layout.
It has a bench seat done in Maroon upholstery and White piping.
The speedometer, odometer, fuel, and oil pressure gauges in the dash are all working correctly.
A second panel was added below the dash for temperature and voltmeter.
A tachometer has also been added on the column.
A JVC AM/FM/CD player mounted below the center stock Ford trim piece.
The new headliner has a working dome light and the sun visors were redone as well.
This is a really cool pickup that drives very well.
It would like right at home with vintage shop signage painted on the side.
Whether you use it run for parts or decide to restore it, the truck certainly has a lot of potential.
