Vehicle Description 1923 Ford Nostalgia Altered Dragster The actual time and place when the wheel was invented is unknown but fast forward a few thousand years and it is no surprise someone was going to figure out how to pair them with a motor and go fast! Although it would take until an official track was created in the 50s for Drag Racing to take off you can bet Drag Races were already a thing, just on the less legal side.
Nowadays race cars have caught the eyes of men, women, and kids throughout the world.
Even if you don't have your own inner speed demon wanting to be behind the wheel there is something fascinating about watching these man made machines reach speeds most might never experience.
While there is still a huge drag racing circuit, as the years have gone on we saw the emergence of the Nostalgia Drags.
There are organizations from coast-to-coast hosting these events as a way to preserve racing culture and show a younger audience where it all began.
This very cool 1923 Ford Altered Dragster does just that incorporating a vintage Model T look with high end performance.
The car was built by Chambliss Race Cars in Texas.
It is painted Black and topped of with Vintage racing inspired graphics and sponsor stickers.
It sits on a custom funny car chassis and the body flips up like a funny car does to get easy access to a lot of the mechanical components.
This thing has no problem hooking up and rolls on Goodyear Eagle tires (17-33.
5-16).
Turning those tires is a 572 Shafiroff Racing motor.
They are based out of New York and are one of the premier engine builders in the country.
The motor is freshly rebuilt and prior to the build had made an 1/8th mile pass at 179 mph in 4.
90 seconds.
It hasn't made a pass since the build but we suspect with the improvements it is now a 4.
70s second car.
It is putting out around 1000 horsepower and fitted with fully ported 360cc aluminum heads, sheet metal manifold, dual 1050 cfm Holly carburetors, MSD ignition system, custom valve covers, braided lines, and high level components throughout.
Power is sent back through the powerglide transmission with transbrake and 6200 stall converter to the Strange Engineering full floater 9 inch rear end with 4.
30 gears.
This set up includes a stainless steel brake kit and 40 Spline Gun Drilled Axles.
Other notable features include the Stroud dual drag parachutes, Stroud safety harness, Butterfly steering wheel, Autometer gauges, and Proform tachometer with shift light.
Should you decide you want to drop a different motor in then it could be purchased without it for $10,000 less.
If you are ready to show off your drag racing skills, then this is definitely one to check out.
It needs nothing but a new driver to send it down the track.
This high end Nostalgia Dragster could be yours for only $23,750.
