Vehicle Description 1969 Chevrolet Camaro The Camaro first debuted by Chevrolet in 1966 for the 1967 model year.
The intention was to compete directly with the Ford Mustang during the popular muscle car/pony car era.
They had the Corvair but felt it would fail to keep up with Fords runaway success in the market.
The were produced for 4 distinct generations before the name was dropped in 2002.
That wasn't the end for the Camaro though because the name was revived for a concept car in 2009 that would go on to be the 5th generation.
This clean 1969 Camaro was the last year for the 1st gen cars and has been very nicely restored.
The body is all rust free and in excellent condition.
The cars production date was 3/25/1969 per its NCRS documentation and was made in California before being delivered to a dealer in New York.
It comes with this documentation, a full build book and the original dealer order form.
It is painted in its original Lemans Blue color with dual Black racing stripes and a Black vinyl top.
The original bumpers are nicely chromed and along with the stainless trim have a great shine.
It has a rear deck spoiler and front chin spoiler which are in good shape.
It has a great stance and rides on its original Chevrolet Rally wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires.
The car is badged as a 302 but is now sporting a professionally built 383 Stroker.
It was built by Skip White Performance in Tennessee and on the dyno put out 480 horsepower.
The motor was brand new when installed and the car had 62,800 original miles at the time.
It now has 64,355 miles so the motor has a long life ahead of it with only 1,555 miles currently.
The block/heads are all painted Chevrolet Orange and it has custom valve covers.
The transmission is a Tremec 5 speed with a new McLeod street performance clutch.
The rear end is a 12 bolt with 3:
73 gearing and positraction.
The car was ordered with factory power brakes and discs up front which are all working properly.
Mechanically the car runs great and has plenty of power.
At 70 mph it is cruising at 2200 rpm.
The upholstery is done in Black and is the Z28 interior.
It has factory bucket seats sitting to each side of the original center console.
The Hurst shifter is routed through the console and it also has the amp, temperature, fuel, and oil pressure gauges.
All of the original style wood trim accents are in place and look great.
A Vintage Air AC/Heat system has been added but utilize very stock looking sliding controls.
Those controls and the vents are inset into the dash so it looks original.
The original gauges are all working and an Ultra Light Autometer wideband air/fuel ratio gauge has been added on the column.
The trunk is all finished out in the original style houndstooth material and houses the spare with cover and jack.
This very clean Camaro comes with a bunch of records and needs nothing but a new garage to call home.
