Vehicle Description 1979 Chevrolet Corvette This cool classic may be titled as a 1979 Corvette but we guarantee you have never seen and will never see another like it.
The classic C3 Corvette has a great look to start with but this one was taken a step further and transformed into a wild pro touring custom like no other out there.
A majority of the build was completed by Marcs Garage in Texas who has built many custom classics and is known for his top quality work.
The inspiration for the build came from when the owner saw a picture of a C3 Corvette with a '96 Corvette Grand Sport paint job.
That picture remained on his billboard as a constant reminder of one of the dream cars he intended to build.
After a neighbor was selling a 1979 Corvette he decided to make that dream a reality.
Sure, he could of just repainted it with a Grand Sport theme but that isn't his style.
He instead decided to build a one of a kind custom Corvette to top all the rest.
The paint and body work was completed by the Bright Brothers in Texas who are very well known for their top of the line work.
They have a waiting list a year long and believe us, this type of work for them is in the $20K-$30K price range.
The result is the slickest paint job you can get.
The beautiful Admiral Blue paint from House of Color has a brilliant finish that shines perfectly in the sun.
Of course that is not all though because sticking true to the original Grand Sports it needed a White center stripe and the two Red has marks on the left fender.
It doesn't stop there though.
The Bright brothers created custom vents on the hood, molded in the headlights which they relocated to the nose, molded in the bumpers and added a custom spoiler.
Notice the stripe across the roof? Well that is because they removed the T-tops and made the car a true Coupe.
They also created custom covers for the side pipes to make them blend in more than your standard side pipes.
The result is a Corvette that stands out among all others.
The car has a perfect stance and rolls around on Budnik wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
With its tough custom exterior it should be pretty obvious that original drivetrain is no longer in place.
In lieu of the original carbureted V8 this beast in now sporting a fully rebuilt Chevrolet Performance LS3 motor.
What is powering a lot of newer Corvettes is now sending this C3 flying down the road.
It wears a custom cover that was painted in the same Grand Sport theme to match the body.
Up front it has an Eddie Motorsports S drive pulley system to turn the Powermaster alternator and Gen IV Vintage Air AC compressor.
To each side sets ceramic coated 1 7/8 inch headers from Ultimate Headers which tie into custom 3 inch stainless steel exhaust into MagnaFlow mufflers.
Overheating is never an issue due to the three row aluminum radiator from Mattson's Custom Radiators with electric fans.
Backing the motor is a 4L70E automatic transmission from Phoenix transmissions and a Ford 9 inch limited slip 3.
50:
1 geared rear end.
The car sits on a custom chassis from Art Morrison which is the best money can buy and the undercarriage looks just as nice as the top.
It has Baer 14 inch disc brakes with 6 piston calipers under all for corners.
The suspension utilizes Strange Engineering adjustable coil overs and the car rides down the road well.
The interior of the car is done in all Red leather and was completed by Compton Custom Interiors.
It looks like new.
The high back bucket seats have a great look with a center insert that is somewhat Stingray themed.
It also has a custom center console that flows into the rear package tray area that also has that Stingray look.
The center console incorporates cup holders and feeds into the dash where it marries the perfect combination of stock look with custom features.
This portion of the dash may have a somewhat stock layout in now incorporates push button transmission controls, an Alpine stereo and custom gauges.
The stereo was done by Mobile Sound Systems who also installed four speakers and a subwoofer.
This 1979 Corvette is a super cool custom that runs extremely well.
If you are looking for something unique then you just found it.
It is being sold for a fraction of what it cost to complete and comes with receipts for all of the build work.
It has won a ton of 1st place and best of awards that also come with the car and it will continue to pull in awards for many many years to come.
You couldn't come close to building this car for only $105,000.
