Vehicle Description 1968 Dodge Super Bee The Super Bee was a unique mid sized muscle car that was only produced in America for a short 3 years.
Many don't realize it but the name actually lived on until 1980 but was applied to Mexico produced Valiants as a trim option.
Dodge was watching Plymouth have large success with the Road Runner so decided they needed a version of their own.
The Super Bee name and logo was actually the result of a contest which a senior designer won.
He drew inspiration from the B body platform and hit the ground running with the Super Bee name.
They were similar to the Road Runner but were slightly larger with a redesigned grill and of course the classic Bumble Bee tail stripe and die cast Bee medallions.
This 1968 Super Bee is a very nice car that is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
Often times in the Mopar world people get into these high end rare models and end up just parking them away in a collection or museum.
That is sort of which makes this car unique and cool because not only is it an iconic numbers matching car but is a Mopar you shouldn't be afraid to hop in and cruise around.
The car has received 1 repaint in its factory Dodge exclusive SS1 Yellow combined with the Black rear stripe and Black taillight panel.
The chrome bumpers are in nice condition as is all the other chrome/stainless around the windows, on the door handles, drivers mirror and around the power bulge hood.
These models had the dual double headlights up front and dual triple taillights in rear which all work properly.
The glass throughout is all good with no issues.
The car sits on its original 15 inch rally wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires.
Powering the car is its numbers matching 383 Magnum motor that runs great.
It is a manual brake car but was ordered with power steering and air conditioning.
The motor has been kept mostly stock but the AC system has been modernized to take R134a refrigerant and has a Sanden compressor.
The car sounds good through its stock exhaust manifolds and exits through chrome square tips below the rear bumper.
The transmission is the 3 speed Torqueflite automatic that has been upgraded with a gear vendor unit.
Underneath the car the floors are all solid with no bad rust or problems.
The interior is done in all Black and has been kept very stock original.
It has a split front bench seat and rear bench seat with lap belts in place on both.
Up front it also has shoulder belts that are clipped up by the headliner.
The dash features a Black dash pad and all of the stock style gauges, knobs, switches, and radio.
In front of the driver is the stock 3 spoke wood grain steering wheel with the classic Dodge Fratzog logo horn button.
The trunk of the car is nicely finished out and houses the original spare and jack set up.
This is a really cool classic muscle car that is mechanically sound and set up to be a fun driver.
It is being offered up at the very reasonable $57,500.
